The Fifteenth Session of EMBA Forum Achieved Great Success

The fifteenth session of EMBA forum was held successfully in room 210, Anzhong Building, started at 7pm on Mar 12th. Mr. Steve Burrows, the former CEO of the largest International Business Unit of Anheuser-Busch Companies, was the guest speaker. The forum was hosted by Mr. Liu Hong, the vice dean of School of Business Nanjing University, and interpreted by Ms. SHEN Yanzhi, a teacher from the department of international economy and trade.

The forum began with Dean Liu’s speech, talking about the brief history of Anheuser-Busch and Mr. Steve Burrows’ professional achievements. He also extended the warmest welcome to our distinguished guest speaker. Mr. Steve Burrow focused his lecture on 10 lessons learned in international business. They are: 1) do the right thing right; 2) have a long-term perspective; 3) beware of “Hockey Sticks”; 4) Fish where the fish are; 5) Partnerships must be a win for both parties; 6) Inspect what you expect; 7) Recruit for talent, train for skills and knowledge; 8) know your customers; 9) create a management planning system; 10) never stop learning. The activity was ended with open Q&As. The present students had had a friendly and wise conversation with Mr. Steve Burrows. Before Mr. Steve Burrows left, a special gift made by Nanjing University was given to him by Dean Liu.
