Accounting Dept.
The Department of Accounting, previously named Department of International Accounting, was established in 1993. Its predecessor was the Accounting Section of the Department of Business Management. The department has 20 faculty members, among whom 15 have doctoral degrees, 7 are professors (6 Ph.D. Advisors), and 4 are associate professors. It offers 2 bachelor programs in financial management and accounting, 1 master program and 1 doctoral program in accounting (with two directions of accounting and financial management), and 1 master program in public accounting (MPAcc). Accounting in the department is the only key discipline in Jiangsu Province.
The department focuses on training high-level talents who are specialized in financial management, accounting and auditing, and other relevant work for various enterprises, accounting firms, public service units, and government entities. The graduates from the department are capable of doing practical or teaching and research work in the fields of financial and investment analysis, project feasibility studies, securities, credit rating, accounting management, independent auditing, and routine financial management of companies. In recent years, the department has cooperated with the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and the Monash University of Australia to jointly set up bachelor and doctoral programs in accounting. It has made a great progress in exploring the modes of training international talents in accounting. The department possesses the Research and Training Center for Finance and Accounting of Jiangsu Province.
